claim your joy!

We each came into this world with our own IGS (inner guidance system). It is the most high-tech system that there ever was or ever will be and you have it inside of you.

If you feel good, then you’re on the right track. If you feel anxious, sick, depressed, then you’re heading in the opposite direction of what your inner guidance system is telling you.

This is a very simple system!

Our modern society has trained us in such a way that we no longer recognize the signals from our own guidance system, so I’m going to give you this blueprint that is designed to help you remember who you are and how your system works, so that you can start living your purpose.

How do I take back my power?

  1. Make a conscious shift in your thinking, from caring for others first, to caring for yourself first. Here’s the difference: When you put others first, you never get your turn, but when you put yourself first, not only are you caring for your own needs, but you will find that you have more to give.
  2. Morning meditation is a way to charge your spirit for the day. Get in touch with your inner wants and needs before ever leaving your bed.
  3. Become an active observer. Spend time exploring the things you like and dislike. Often, we choose things for ourselves without giving it much thought. Making these observations will give you a greater sense of self.
  4. Give yourself permission to set your own personal pace. You may feel that a friend is progressing faster than you are, but you have a physical and emotional need to avoid stress and pressure. Do what works for you. Setbacks will happen, so plan to be flexible as you practice these strategies.
  5. Even well-meaning people will say insensitive things. Don’t read too much into these hurtful comments. Chances are you’ll give more energy to their ill measured words, than they intended to convey, and besides, it is none of your business what other people think of you. Only you know what is in your heart.
  6. Communicate clearly. When you explain yourself thoroughly and completely, you leave it entirely up to your audience to either a) understand you completely, or b) misconstrue the facts. But, because you communicated your thoughts clearly, you can be sure the Universe will see things through.
  7. You cannot change the people around you. You only have control over your own reactions to them. “I bless you in your truth” or “Nameste” are very empowering statements.
  8. Vocalize your appreciation. Tell people when you appreciate them, say, “I love you” to someone every day. When we share our hearts with the people we care about, it increases our own vibration and creates feelings of self-worth.
  9. Listen more than you speak. It’s not all about you. In social settings, and in your practice, ask questions and listen carefully to the answers. Listening will help you to realize who you are, what your likes and dislikes are, far more than retelling your own story ever will. Bonus: People love to talk about themselves. If you’re a good listener, your company will be sought after.
  10. Guilt is a choice. It is something we allow, or refuse, to take upon ourselves. It is a tool used by others to control you. No one can make you feel guilty, so don’t accept guilt in your life.
  11. Forgive everyone. Whether or not you receive an apology, forgiveness is a must if your goal is to be free of trauma. Remember the saying, “Holding a grudge is like drinking poison and hoping the other person dies.” Forgiveness transmutes pain into wisdom. That is power!
  12. You are more than just what you see in the mirror. When you have setbacks, and begin to feel down about yourself, remember that you are so much more than just this physical body. Learn to detach your higher self from your physical self with meditation.
  13. Affirmations are a powerful tool. Use them. “I am a complete and perfect creation” is a great place to start. Post this, or something like it, in places you’re likely to see it often, such as your cars dashboard, your kitchen cabinet, and on your desk at work. Write your own, more specific affirmations, as your personal goals change.
  14. Nightly Review is a great habit to get into. Start a daily journal in which you will write about the things you achieved that day. This is where you pat yourself on the back for channeling stress effectively, holding your tongue when you really wanted to scream, and all the little things you did for yourself that changed the way you see yourself.
  15. Your personal Power is anchored in your integrity. Tell the truth, keep your word, and never engage in gossip. Don’t speak it, and don’t listen to it. Maintaining your integrity will keep you centered and healthy.
  16. Using Kinesiology to listen to your IGS. Stand with your feet shoulder distance apart, close your eyes then ask yes/no questions to feel how your body responds to the yes questions and then the no questions.
  17. Take responsibility for your life. If your life is difficult, you must acknowledge the role you played to create those difficulties. You have complete control over your reactions to any situation, and when you are able to ‘hear’ your IGS and maintain your emotional balance, you will attract fewer difficulties.
  18. Segment Intend. Project into your day the things you wish to see, feel, experience. Doing this draws those things to you. Imagine your satisfied self, at the end of each day, healthy, whole and excited about life!
  19. Do the work. Do all of these things, because when you forgive those who hurt you and drop all of your walls, all that is left is joy, and that is the whole point and purpose of life!

Claiming your Joy is about remembering who you are, far more than about learning anything new. It is my sincerest wish that you will resonate with these truths, and reconnect with the ancient knowledge that is already within you.
